Mother's Day Special Treats

It's almost Mother's Day. The one day in the year when you can take some time out, sit back and let your family take care of you! It's also a time to reflect and give yourself a pat on the back for all your accomplishments as a mother!

Whether you are a first time mum or a mum of many we have put together some great ideas to help you have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Special Treats Just For You!
What would Mother's Day be without pampering and indulgences? You deserve some time out! Don't despair and feel like you don't have any time in the day to treat yourself.
Start by printing this page and leave it as a big hint!

  • Have breakfast in bed – get your partner or family to bring you breakfast in bed. Even burnt toast tastes great if you are not the one who had to get up and make it!
  • Get a massage – if you are able to leave your baby with someone for an hour or so this is a fabulous treat that you walk away feeling like a million dollars!

  • Treat yourself to a pedicure – make the most of this time and take a book, magazine or a relaxing mask and just sit back and enjoy whilst someone else is rubbing your feet!

  • Get a blow dry from the hairdressers – like the pedicure make the most of this time and take a good book/magazine or just sit back and enjoy! Best of all you will walk away from the hairdressers feeling like a new woman without the expense of a hair cut.

  • Leave the kid(s) with your partner for the morning and go to a department store for a makeover at the cosmetics counter- you'll feel like a million dollars for free!

  • Leave out your favourite recipe (and shopping list) for dinner/lunch and encouraging your partner and kids to cook it for a lovely family meal together.

  • Spend the day in bed – if all you really want to do is sleep then take time out and do it!

  • Take a long bath – take in your favourite book or play some of your favourite music and kick back and relax in the tub. Make sure that you can close the door and don't let anyone in until you have finished!

  • Go to the movies with your mum or other mums – leave your partner at home with the kids for the day and head off to the movies with your mum or other mums, make a day of it and go out for coffee or lunch afterwards!

  • Go for a long walk – if you are able to get someone to care for your baby take a walk through a park or along the beach. You will be amazed how revitalising the fresh air will make you feel.

  • Give yourself a Mother's Day card or get your partner to print one out and put a photo of your baby on it so you can treasure it always. (Simply print out the PDF file, cut out a hole for the photo, fold, insert your photo and fold again)
